Singaraja (Antara Bali) -  Nineteen countries with 106 yachts will take part in  Sail Indonesia 2010 at Bina Ria, a tourist resort in Lovina,  Singaraja,  Bali, from September 22 to 25.

The countries taking part in Sail Indonesia in northern Bali include the United States, New Zealand, Australia, France, Austria, Germany, Argentina, Italy, Canada, Japan, and the Netherlands, with a total of 250 participants and also as tourists.

Head of the Buleleng culture and tourism agency Drs. Putu Tastra Wijaya said Sail Indonesia will not only promote tourism in Bali, especially the tourist potentials in Buleleng, but also raise the number of foreign and local tourists to North Bali.

Sail Indonesia will be held by the Marine and Fishery Affairs Ministry in cooperation with the Cinta Bahari Indonesia Foundation and with the support of the local administration.

Tastra Wijaya said Sail Indonesia a three months annual sailing rally will promote Indonesia as a destination of marine tourism.

In Buleleng regency, this year's event will be the fourth as host of eight such international events,  Tastra said he felt proud that Lovina had been chosen for the Sail Indonesia event.

All the participants had been seen off in Darwin on July 24 then saling to Australia and Asia, and enter Indonesia through Banda and  Kupang to Batam, Rote Ndao regency,  Sabu, East Sumba, Southwest Sumba, and Bau-Bau, and eventually meet in Lovina, Buleleng.

Buleleng known for its peaceful  Lovina beach is a meeting place of the participants passing by way of the western and eastern lanes.

Bina Ria in Lovina has become a focus of Sail Indonesia, head of the Bulelang culture and tourism agency said, as it has become very popular to the participants because of its beautiful tourist objects, very kind people and the complete facilities meeting the needs of the participants.

Right now 8 small boats from a number of countries had arrived in  Bina Ria beach taking part in  Sail Indonesia organized by the international sail rally which had been held several times since 2003

In four days, the foreign guests will be entertained with art and cultural performances like "joged bumbung", "sapi gerumbungan", angklung traditional art, and "rindik", shadow puppet, a colosal show, and Bali cooking course. (*)
