Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia was considered to be most superior in financing Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) especially in the APEC economic forum that make many countries wanted to learn it from Indonesia.
"Indonesia has become a champion for financing the small and medium scale entrepreneurs (SMEs)," a ranking official at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Meliadi Sembiring said here on Sunday.
In the APEC economic forum, he noted, there are some countries that assessed excel in different fields.
For example, South Korea with green technology and Indonesia was considered to be superior in micro-finance.
"For a long time, Indonesia had developed credit schemes for people especially good SMEs that developed by private or government agencies," he said.
He added, such as credit scheme of BRI that focused on the SME segment.
BRI is even the only bank that had a satellite in the world so that it became a good benchmark in terms of SMEs financing.
"Indonesia is often asked to provide input in the APEC forum, we also become a leader in terms of Key Performing Indicators for SMEs financing," he emphasized.
Later, the ministry hopes more parties develop financing schemes for SMEs, including micro-finance inclusively. (WDY)
