The problem came when Bogor of West Java which was originally planned to host part of the final sessions rejected to have any part of the contest.
Bali, which will be the venue for most of the sessions, is expected to be in difficulty to spare more place for the final session on Sept 28 with the timing is too close to the convention of the APEC summit in the resort island.
Hary Tanoesoedibjo, the chief executive of the MNC Group, which sponsored the contest expressed doubt that Bali would have more place to spare.
The committee is still in close contact with the central government regarding the revision of the license to hold the final sessions of the contest in Jakarta and Bogor.
MNC Managing Director Nana Putra said the impact of the cancellation of part of the time for quarantine and final sessions outside Bali was significant on the implementation of the 63rd world beauty contest.
"This is a big challenge as all has been well planned long earlier by involving many contestants. It was also planned that the contestants would return home to their respective countries via Jakarta. Change of the plan would extremely cause difficulty," he said.
Nana said until now she could not yet understand the decision to cancel the license to hold the final session in Sentul of Bogor, West Java.
"If the problem concerns culture, we would take care of it that the ceremonies would not be against the local norms and culture," he said, adding, "this is not a commercial activity, but more an idealism to promote the country's culture."
The Islamic organizations have protested against holding the contest in the country as Miss World contest saying the contest is not in line with the national culture .
Originally the government has licensed the holding of the Miss World contest in Bali with final sessions in Sentul , Bogor, but the license was later revised .
The revision was made on short notice on Saturday , Sept 7 or a day before the opening night bowing to the public pressure.
A number of Islamic social organizations grouped in the Friendship Institution of Islamic Mass Organizations (LPOI) rejected the plan to hold Miss World contest describing it as against national norms and cultures
LPOI chaired by KH Said Aqil Siroj, who is general chairman of Nahdatul Ulama, the country's largest non political Islamic organization, said "Miss World contest has more disadvantages than benefits for the country.
He said Miss World contest is no more than just an extravaganza throwing money around. (*/DWA)
