Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Vice President Boediono opened the Wayang World Puppet Carnival 2013 at Indonesia in Miniature Park (TMII) on Monday to preserve the nation's culture at home and abroad.
The puppet carnival began on September 1 and will end on September 8; it is being held at TMII's Sasono Utomo building.
The international-scale carnival has been organised to bring together noted figures, experts, and puppeteers and stage puppet shows in various parts of the country.
Boediono enjoys watching leather puppet shows. Last year, a puppet show was organised for the first time at Vice Presidential Palace's yard in Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta. The vice president inaugurated the event on July 7, 2012, which depicted the story of 'Pandowo Boyong. (*/DWA)
