The Seoul Chamber Society (SCS) was performed in Jakarta as an invitation by the Korea Foundation (KF) in order to celebrate Korea-ASEAN relationship through a series of events named "Korea Festival in ASEAN".
The SCS featured 11 classic musics from Mozart to Bartok and a
contemporary music from "My Sassy Girl" original soundtrack. The chamber's members are 15 players, including five violists, two violaist, three celloists, a contrabassist, an oboe player, a trumpeter, and two pianists. Their music has brought a harmonic atmosphere for all audiences.
"I don't get along with the classic musics, but the SCS has made me stay still during the last two hours performance," said Maria (29), one of the audiences.
"The Korea Festival was held to introduce a variety of aspects of the cultures and arts of Korea to the ASEAN people," said KF's President Hyun-seok Yu.
Yu added that the Korea Festival was aimed at strengthening the friendship and understanding between two regions through Korean print works, classical music, traditional and fusion-style music, contemporary dance, and Korea-related lecture series. (*/DWA)
