The invitation letter was handed over personally by the King's special envoy, Abdul Salam Al-Abbadi, at his private residence in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java on Saturday afternoon.
Abdul Salam, who is former minister of endowment and Islamic affairs, came in Cikeas in the company of Yarmouk University President Abdulah Al Musa while President Yudhoyono on the occasion was flanked by minister/state secretary Sudi Silalahi and Indonesian ambassador to Jordan and Palestine Teguh Wardoyo.
"In the meeting just now they submitted the official invitation from the Jordanian King for President Yudhoyono to visit Jordan," Tegu Wardoyo said.
He said Abdul Salam had also reported the implementation of the International Islam Conference on Civilization and Peace in Jakarta from April 23-24. (*/DWA)
