The local unit traded at Rp9,708 in the Jakarta interbank spot market on Monday evening compared to Rp9,710 per dollar at the weekend.
The positive fundamental of the Indonesian economy served as one of the catalysts for the rupiah to strengthen against the dollar, analyst Reza Priyambada of Trust Securities said.
