Pekanbaru (Antara Bali) - Crude palm oil is the largest export earner for Riau other than oil and gas.
Based on data from the regional office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Riau's CPO exports were valued at US$759.48 million in January 2013 making up 70 percent of the total export earning of the province not including oil and gas exports.
The export volume rose US$114 million from US$645.43 million a month earlier and by US$112.5 million from the same period last year, head of the Riau office of BPS Mawardi Arsyad said on Tuesday.
Altogether Riau's exports of commodities other than oil and gas were valued at US$1.1 billion in January.
The export earning rose by 6.12 percent from a month earlier and by 21.5 percent year-on-year. (*/DWA)
