Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on all ministries here on Thursday not to be off-guard with regard to the implementation of the government programs in the next two years' time.

"We must really monitor and safeguard the national economy this year and next year," he said at a limited cabinet meeting to discuss government's working plans for 2014 at his office.

Political situation is expected to escalate ahead of the general elections scheduled in 2014. He said two challenges still remained to be dealt with by the government before the end of its term.

"The first is the world's economic recession which is not yet over," he said. (DWA/IGT)
