Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Composite share price index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) fell 3.85 points on Thursday morning on profit taking.
The BEI started trading with index down 0.09 percent to 4,407.11 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks losing 0.13 percent to 756.01 points.
"The share prices notably those of banking stocks fell on profit taking after significant gain earlier," Samuel Sekuritas' analyst Yualdo Yudoprawiro said .
Yualdo said the trend in regional markets which recorded a slight fall also weighed on the BEI index.
In mid day trading at 10.00 WIB local time, the BEI index was still in the positive area gaining 0.10 percent to 4,415 points.
Regional markets Hang Seng recorded a 0.07 percent fall in index to 23,341.42 points with Nikkei-225 index picking up 0.17 percent to to 10,618.42 points and Straits Times posting 0.05 percent rise in index to 3,210.23 points. (*/T007)
