The aircraft of the Tariku Aviation Foundation reported missing with pilot Christian Yus was found in the area of Dagi Baru, in the regency of Yahukimo, Tariku manager Robin told Antara news agency.
Robin said a rescue team has been flown to that location around 8,000 feet above the sea level.
The fate of the pilot and the passenger was not yet known, Robin said.
"We hope to whether would be favorable to allow evacuation," he said.
The plane left Koropun at 11.00 western Indonesian time and was expected to arrive at Dekai 15 minutes later.(*/DWA/T007)
