Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Australian government has released three underage Indonesian prisoners from the Albany and Pardelup prisons in West Australia, according to a press release from the Indonesian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.

Australian Attorney Nicola Roxon MP announced the release of the prisoners on Tuesday (June 19).

In response to the release, East Asian and Pacific Director of Indonesian Foreign Ministry Dewi S Wahab said the Indonesian government welcomed the decision.  

"The Indonesian government hopes the Australian government releases all the children who are innocent," she stated.

Dewi said the Indonesian government always tried to assist and facilitate the release of underage Indonesian prisoners.(IGT)
