Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The chief of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Commissioner General Gories Mere, said the government would never tolerate narcotics crimes and would always support fight against them.
With regard to recent clemency to Australian narcotic convict Schapelle Leigh Corby he said here on Friday that it would not lessen the spirit of law enforcers to carry out their duty.
"I think Corby's clemency will not reduce or weaken the fighting spirit of law enforcers," he said.
Corby has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for smuggling4.2 kilograms of cannabis in 2004. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono recently cut her sentence by five years citing humanitarian grounds drawing criticism from several quarters.(IGT)
