Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Mandala Airlines will resume operation on April 5 after having stopped all flights in early 2011, Sandiaga Uno, CEO of Saratoga Group (shareholder of Mandala Airlines), said here on March 29 at a press conference.

"We will fly again on April 5. The first route will be Jakarta-Medan and Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur," Uno stated.

Initially, he noted that Mandala Airlines would operate three Airbus A-320 planes.

Currently, the Saratoga Group and Singapore budget carrier Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd are the owners of Mandala Airlines' stock.

Previously, Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd had announced that Mandala Airlines will operate Airbus A-320 aircraft and will adopt Tiger's business model to offer low-fare travel to international and domestic Indonesian destinations within a five-hour flying radius.(IGT)
