Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali exports non-oil/non-gas commodities worth an average of US$2.1 million per month to Australia, an official said.
Bali's non-oil/non-gas exports to Australia rose every month owing to the rising number of Australian tourists visiting the world-renowned tourist island, the head of the export section at the Bali provincial industry and trade office, Putu Bagiada said here on Friday.
In the first semester of 2011 alone, Bali's non-oil/non-gas exports to Australia totaled US12.5 million, he said.
He said the significant development of the Bali tourism industry had a great impact on the province's exports to other countries, particularly handicraft goods.
The growing trade between Bali and Australia had had a favorable impact on the number of Australian tourist arrivals in the province because among the Australian tourists were businessmen and importers, he said.(**)
