Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has called
for efforts to improve the quality of basic health services as well as
referral health services.
"Pay attention to matters related to the quality of health services, both basic health services and referral health services," he directed at a limited meeting to discuss formulating an effective health and education budget as part of the state budget (APBN) at the Presidential Office here on Wednesday.
Efforts must be made to improve health services, particularly in the remote areas, border areas and outlying islands, he added.
The head of state further asked relevant agencies to ensure effective spending on health care so that people can have better access to health services.
"I myself checked the distribution of health cards in the field. More than 95 percent of health cards were well targeted. Whenever I checked the class 3 health services, I found that almost all of them had received health cards," he informed.
The president further asked all relevant parties to bring a paradigm change in the health program so that the focus does not remain merely on the curative services.
In addition, they also need to organize medical training so that the community knows how to lead a health life.(WDY)
