Jakarta ( Antara Bali) - Malaysia's top men's singles player Lee Chong Wei won his sixth champion title from the Indonesia Open after beating Jan O Jorgensen from Denmark in the 2016 super series tournament here on Sunday.

         Lee Chong Wei, a second seeded player, defeated Jorgensen in a rubber game 17-21, 21-19, 21-17 in 65 minutes.

          "I am glad with the sixth title victory from the Indonesia Open. Jorgensen played very well today. I only tried to focus and enjoyed the game from the beginning," he said after the game.

          Chong Wei admitted he was pessimistic when Jorgensen led 19-17 in the second game. "I had made myself prepared to lose. But I tried to increase the point collection (and was successful)," he said.

          Chong Wei won the third game showing dis domination at the moments ahead of the end of the game.

          "Jorgensen played better today than before. I also beat him at Malaysia Open but he played better today. I would now prepare for Australia Open, he said.

          Chong Wei hoped he could take part in Indonesia open again in 2017 and retain the title.

          Jorgensen said he was disappointed he had lost to Chong Wei at the tournament offering US$900,000 in total prizes.

            "I already started playing strongly wit a lot of attacks. I think I had an opportunity to win the second set," he said.

           Jorgensen however he was also glad he could reach the final round of the tournament. "I will prepare myself for the Olympic Games after returning to Denmark," he said.

           Chong Wei's victory over Jorgensen was the 16th in 17 meets so far. The only victory made by Jorgensen was at China Open in 2009.

            Chong Wei received US$67,500 in prize while Jorgensen as a runner-up US34,200 from the championship. (WDY)
