Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian government will organize a trilateral meeting to be attended by Malaysia and the Philippines, apart from host Indonesia, to discuss ways to improve security in the waters along the border.

"Prior to the meeting, participants will make a courtesy call to the Indonesian President," Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said at the State Place complex here on Tuesday.

The Indonesian technical team will negotiate with the representatives of the other two countries so that the meeting can  result in some concrete measures to enhance security along the sea border areas, the minister stated.

Referring to the four boat crew members being held hostage by an extremist group in the Philippines, the minister explained that the government was aware about their "general position" and the group which was holding them hostage. (WDY)
