Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Finance Ministry and the National Intelligent Agency (BIN) have agreed to secure the tax revenue as the government has never so far reached its tax target in the state budget, a minister said.

"The focus of attention of this cooperation is on the taxation and customs duties. We appreciate the chief of the National Intelligent Agency (BIN) for strengthening cooperation in the field of economic intelligence, notably the state revenue," Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said here on Thursday.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro and chief of the National Intelligent Agency (BIN) Sutiyoso.

The finance minister further said that this cooperation can begin to be realized to achieve the target of tax revenue in 2016 amounting to Rp1,546.7 trillion.

According to him, the commitment in this cooperation include the implementation of early detection of tax problems, performance evaluation, program and strategic action plans as well as the improvement and development of tax intelligence.

Through this partnership, the minister hoped that the perpetrators of the illegal business or problematic taxpayer that are not detected by the Ministry of Finance can be monitored through the actions of intelligence such as by wiretapping, he pointed out.

Meanwhile, chief of the National Intelligent Agency (BIN) Sutiyoso explained that the intelligence tasks that can be done in securing tax revenues include through wiretapping and see the flow of funds in the banking system.(WDY)
