Dubai, UAE (Antara Bali) - Indonesian aircraft maintenance company GMF AeroAsia, which is the subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia airline company takes part in the Dubai Airshow 2015.
"GMF represents maintenance, repair and overhaul industry. If the GMF develops national MRO industry will also develop," GMF AeroAsia CEO Richard Budihadianto said here on Saturday.
GMF AeroAsia is the only Indonesian company participating in the event.
During the event GMF is scheduled to sign cooperation agreements with a number of airline companies from the Middle East and Africa including Kam Air (Afghanistan), Kabo Air (Nigeria), ATA Air, Iran Air Tour and Meraj Air (all from Iran) and also Djibouti Air.
Later GMF also will also cooperate with countries from the Asia-Pacific region such as South Korea and Australia, he said.
The Dubai Airshow from November 8 to 12 will showcase more than 160 aircraft of various kinds.
Of more than 1,100 exhibition participants around third of them come from the Middle Eastern countries, 28 percent from America and 29 percent from Europe.
"Dubai Airshow is really the center of aviation industry," the director of Dubai Airshow management, Michele van Akejilen, said.
He said with participants from more than 60 countries it is expected newest innovation would emerge in the event this year.
He said the global aviation industry was worth US$300 billion and it continued to grow by around eight percent a year.
Several regional airlines from the Gulf states will show their fleets including Emirates Airline and Qatar Airways with their Airbus A380.
From defense industries there will be Boeing Defense Chinook and Rafale from the French Air Force as well as USA border protection aircraft.
Michele van Akejilen said there was desire for aircraft in the Middle East and for the organizer to make markets understand the choices available. (WDY)
