Bali (Antara Bali)-In Java, angkringan is widely known as the location of a cheap and simple diner where visitors must be willing to sit cross-legged to enjoy traditional Indonesian street food.

“ If mostly angkringan could be found as a plain semi-permanent tent, Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center presents a different concept of angkringan,” said Steve Loudewyck, Food & Beverage Manager of Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center.

He said, the teras comes up with the modern idea of Angkringan while keep maintaining the sense of Indonesia traditional culture.

Started in 22 May 2015, on Fridays from 18.00 to 22.00, Teras Angkringan is continously held. Located in the terrace level one of Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center, this unique experience is epicly arranged with array of traditional Indonesian culinary, such as Bakso Ceker Ayam, Nasi Bakar, Tipat Belayak, Jamur Krispi, Es Pisang Ijo, Es Krim Goreng, and many other else.

While enjoying the tasty foods, customers would also be entertained by live band performance and movie cinema. Another unique thing is the setup arrangement, where street food vendors will also sell their products in street style.

“This culinary event is arranged in order to dismiss the public perception that consuming at the hotel is expensive, and we would like to embrace local food vendors to market their products as well. In addition, we are always exploring new techniques of entertainment and food variations in Teras Angkringan so this culinary event would be more attractive, enjoyable and affordable for everyone.”  he said.
