Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN) Global will hold the third Congress Diaspora Indonesia (CID)  with a theme of Diaspora Devotion For Nation on August 12 to 13 in Jakarta,  President of IDN Mohamad Al-Arief said here Thursday.

He said the event is an attempt to synergize the Indonesian diasporas with all national components of the government, legislatures, private sectors, academia and the community to solve the national problems.

This congress will discuss several important issues including the livable city, health, higher education, economy, culinary, creative economy, dual citizenship, maritime, youth and others.

Arief said the IDN congress aims to facilitate the diasporas with the government and community leaders in Indonesia, and encourage the achievement of the concept of livable city, dual citizenship and other targets.

The CID congress is expected to be participated by the Indonesian diasporas who are spread across the world such as in USA, Netherlands, Germany, France, Qatar, China, and Australia.

"We expect 15 thousand people will be participated in this event," said Arif.

The third CID is planned to be opened by President Joko Widodo, and attended by several ministers including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Maritime and Fisheries Affairs, Minister of Research and Higher Education, and Head of the Creative Economy Board.

IDN Australia chairman Frans Simarmata said the committee invites the public to attend the congress, and to provide ideas as well as input on various topics which will be discussed in the event. (WDY)
