Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi will ask state officials to be neutral in the regional head elections in December 2015.

"Surely we will distribute circulars. We will coordinate with Home Affairs Minister " he said here on Thursday.

According to him, the ministry will adjust the contents of the circulars with previous ministerial regulation related to the professionalism of state apparatus.

"We will also create a 'code of conduct', the rules of ethics to keep the neutrality of state officials in election and campaign as well," he remarked.

Crhisnandi pointed out that the state officials can not be a team campaign of any election candidate and are forbidden to participate in the campaign.

He noted that if the state officials break the rules, they could get severe sanctions such as being removed from their posts and laid off.

"Because Law No. 23 on Regional Autonomy which is supported by State Civil Administrative Law No. 5/2014, firmly states that civilian state apparatus and civil servants are banned from participating part in election the race," he said. (WDY)
