Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian currency rupiah regained more value against the US dollar trading at the level of 12,434 per US dollar in the opening trade on Monday from earlier level of 12,497 per dollar.

Chief researcher of Woori Korindo Securities Indonesia Reza Priyambada said the decision of the Federal Open Market Committee meeting still has its impact.

"The statement of the US central bank's policy wing  which said the Fed would not raise its benchmark interest rate until mid 2015 still had positive impact on the domestic currency," Reza said.

In addition,  Bank Indonesia has signaled that it would keep rupiah at the level of 11,900-12,300 per dollar.

The negative sentiment is growing demand for US dollar to repay corporate foreign debts toward the end of the year  and dollar strengthening  with improving trend of the US economy.

Monex Investindo Futures' analyst Zulfirman Basir said dollar strengthening is slowing  on profit taking  in Asian markets.

In addition, the Russian ruble beginning  to regain stability  and commodity prices had receded global worry over potential  financial turbulence. (WDY)
