Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Sofyan Djalil and Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro discussed the strengthening of the taxation directorate general to keep the revenues from the tax sector optimally.

"We discuss the strengthening of the directorate general of taxation, we prepare the points that will be discussed with the president," Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said here on Monday night.

The minister did not say detail of the meeting, but the strengthening of the taxation directorate general including improvements in institutional, human resources, data access, incentives and enforcement.

"Firstly, we talk about the organization. Institutional remains in the taxation directorate general, then it will be reinforced with special treatment," he affirmed.

According to him, one of the institutional strengthening efforts of the taxation directorate general was the change in its structure so that the institution had its own authority in adding employees as needed.

Related to tax revenue by the end of 2014, the minister remarked that he was ready to make efforts optimally, although the realization could only reach 93 percent of the revised state budget (APBN-P) amounted to Rp1,072,3 trillion.

"We have already met (chiefs of) Taxation Regional Office, they will conduct a final effort, we push them in order to get the minimum target of 93 percent," he said.

Earlier, the Directorate General of Taxation recorded tax revenue as of November 14, 2014, reached Rp812,1 trillion or 75.73 percent of the target in the revised state budget worth Rp1,072,3 trillion.

The tax revenue was higher as compared to last year which only reached Rp761,7 trillion, or about 76.54 percent of the target in the 2013 revised budget
Of the achievement Rp812,1 trillion, non-oil income tax revenue reached Rp389,1 trillion or 80 percent of the target Rp485,9 trillion, value-added (PPN) and luxury (PPNBM) taxes reached Rp328,4 trillion or 69 percent of the target Rp475,5 trillion.

While oil and gas income tax revenue reached Rp74,5 trillion or 88.81 percent of the target Rp83,8 trillion, the property tax (PBB) revenue reached Rp14.9 trillion or 68.5 percent of the target Rp21,7 trillion and other tax revenue reached Rp5 trillion or 97.5 percent of the target of Rp5.1 trillion.
