Kyoto, Japan (Antara Bali) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received an honorary doctorate from Ritsumeikan University, here, Monday.

The president received the honorary degree in a ceremony led by the university's rector, Prof. Kiyofumi Kawaguchi, at the Suzaku Campus of Ritsumeikan University.

The president delivered a speech related to academic conferment of the title.

The presidential entourage on the occasion included First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Yusron Ihza Mahendra, Coordinating Minister for Legal, Political and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Chairul Tandjung, Trade Minister M. Luthfi, and Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi.

President Yudhoyono was also accompanied by Chairman of the Indonesia-Japan Association (Japinda) Yasuo Fukuda and President of the National Graduate Institute (GRIPS) Prof. Takashi Shiraishi.

During his one-day working visit in Kyoto, President Yudhoyono is also scheduled to hold meetings with the Japan-Indonesian Association's employer groups and Kankeiren (Kansai Business Federation).

The president and his entourage are scheduled to fly to Jakarta on Monday night from Kyoto. (WDY)
