Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Rupiah regained more value against the US dollar in inter-bank transaction in Friday's closing trade.

Rupiah traded at the level of 11,730 per dollar strengthening from 11,822 earlier. Analysts said in  short to mid term, the Indonesian currency is still in rising trend shored up by improvement in the country's economic fundamentals.

They said the decision of Bank Indonesia  to maintain a fairly high benchmark interest rate (BI rate) is conducive for the market players.

The central bank has maintained the BI rate  at 7.5 percent for the past few months. (*/DWA)
