Jakarta (Antara Bali) - East Timor President Taur Matan Ruak is due to arrive here on Friday in his first trip abroad after he was installed as president on April 6, 2012.

Taur Matan Ruak will be accompanied by his wife Isabel Da Costa, presidential staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah said in a news release here on Thursday.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will welcome him as a state guest  and the two heads of state will hold bilateral meeting, Faizasyah said.

The visit will strengthen relations between the two neighboring countries including in trade, he said.

In the period of  2008-2012, trade between the two countries grew 27.68 percent in volume and in value from US$221.5 million to US$258.8 million.

More Indonesian companies have indicated growing interest in doing business in that country such as oil and gas company PT Pertamina,  Merpati airline, Bank Mandiri, construction companies PT Wika  and  PT Pembangunan Perumahan,  and mobile telecommunications operator Telkomsel. (*/DWA)
