Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia and Venezuela, on Tuesday, had signed several agreements particularly on education and economic fields in order to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
"The Indonesian delegation head, Ambassador Dian Triansyah Djani, and Venezuela's Vice Foreign Minister David Velasquez Caraballo signed the agreements on trade, agriculture, education, and culture as well as energy development investment, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a press release here on Wednesday.
The signing of the agreements was held during the third meeting of Joint Committee Assembly between Indonesia and Venezuela in Nusa Dua, Bali Province.
According to the Indonesian foreign affairs ministry, Venezuelan businessmen were the largest buyers from Latin America during the Trade Indonesia Expo 2012 that reached US$25 million of total transactions.
The two countries also signed agreements on better bilateral government interactions and cooperation in diplomatic education.
The agreements between Indonesia and Venezuela also concern visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic and official passports, the press release said.
Besides, both countries also signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on diplomatic education and training cooperation.
The Venezuela delegation also supported the consensus achievement of draft declaration which will be adopted during the sixth Forum for East Asia and Latin American Cooperation (FEALAC) to be held on June 13-14, 2013 in Bali. (*/DWA)
