Kupang (Antara Bali) - A joint team of the National Committee on Transportation Safety (KNKT) and the Transportation Ministry on Tuesday began investigating the Merpati plane accident at El Tari Airport in Kupang the day before.
"According to the plan, the joint team of the KNKT and the Air Transportation Directorate General at the Transportation Ministry will start their investigation on Tuesday," said general manager of state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I for El Tari Airport Imam Pramono here Tuesday.
He added the team will conduct the investigation in the airport's runway where the accident occurred.
After conducting the investigation, the team will evaluate, gather and investigate pieces of evidence related to the accident.
The team will later establish the cause of the accident, he said. Asked how long the investigation will last, Pramono said it depends on the team's job in the field. (*/DWA)
