Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A unit of state railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) is to begin operating a separate rail carriage for women beginning October 1.
        
"This is part of our service to women customers," spokesman of the company Eva Chairunisa said, according to a press release received here on Saturday.
        
She previously explained that the state railway company has begun operating special carriages for women, located in the back and front of each commuter train. The launching of special rail cars for women, she said, is a follow up service for women customers.
       
"The special rail car for women will only operate on weekdays, from 06.30 A.M. from Bogor station to Jakarta Kota station, 08.07 from Jakarta Kota station to Bogor station, 10.05 from Bogor station to Jakarta Kota station, 11.38 from Jakarta Kota station to Bogor station, 13.14  from Bogor station to Jakarta Kota, 14.47 from Jakarta Kota to Bogor, 16.38 from Bogor to Jatinegara and 18.36 from Jatinegara to Bogor," she added.
        
Currently, the state railway company operates 410 rail carriages that provide service to residents of the Greater Jakarta area, including Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.(*/M038/T007)
