Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested two ad hoc judges and a suspected broker at a Semarang corruption court (Tipikor) in central Java, KPK Deputy Chairman Bambang Widjojanto said on Friday.
"The KPK along with the Supreme Court arrested them on Friday at around 10:00 a.m. Jakarta time, during an operation conducted in the parking lot of a Semarang state court. Two of the women were serving as ad hoc judges in a corruption court," Widjojanto said during a press conference at the KPK office.
The two judges have been identified as Kartini Marpaung and Heru Kusbandono, and the broker as Sri Dartuti, he added.
"While Marpaung and Kusbandono are former lawyers, Dartini¿s relation with the person whose case was being tried in the Semarang corruption court is still being investigated," Widjojanto said.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court spokesperson Djoko Sarwoko said one of the arrested judges had been assigned to work in a Pontianak court in west Kalimantan.(IGT)
