Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will handle the repatriation of the bodies of four Indonesian migrant workers who died following a tugboat explosion in waters off Qatar last month, a ministry spokesman said.


"The Foreign Ministry is now facilitating the repatriation of the four bodies of Indonesian migrant workers who were killed in the explosion of a tugboat in Qatar. The ministry has notified their families regarding plans to send back their bodies," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Michael Tene said.


The Indonesian Embassy in Doha has sent a number of representatives to the site of the accident, about 80 km from the capital city.


"The embassy staffers have identified four Indonesian citizens who became victims in the explosion," he noted.


The tugboat exploded on Sunday April 29, 2012 at 5 pm local time. The four Indonesian victims were Jackrizal of Semarang (Central Java), Bambang of Semarang (Central Java), Ismail of Palopo (South Sulawesi) and Taufik Ujiyanto of Temanggung (Central Java).


They worked for the oil and gas firm Nakilat Svitzer Wijsmuller Qatar (NSWQ).(*/M038/T007)
