Mangupura (Antara Bali) - The annual Kuta Karnival is to be held on October 14-16, 2011 under the theme "Light Up the World", a local tourism official said Friday.
Bali's tourism office chief Cokorda Raka Darmawan said that the Light Up the World theme was the tourism world's reflection of an enlightened period.
According to Kuta Carnival organizing committee chairman Morgan Made Suartha, the event would last three days with traditional Balinese dance performances like the colossal Kecak dance.
Besides, the event would also include the releasing of ome 500 baby turtles into the ocean by locals and tourists in the area. Morgan said.
On the second day, Balinese surfers would hold a ritual to remember all the victims of the Bali bombings several years ago by sowing flowers in the open sea.(**)
