Singaraja (Antara Bali) - Singaraja immigration office in Buleleng district, Bali, has deported seven illegal Chinese workers who worked for Celukan Bawang steam-generated power plant (PLTU).

"Previously, we had questioned eight Chinese workers, but only one of them had legal documents," head of Singaraja immigration Viktor Manurung stated here on Tuesday.

The immigration officers have questioned Guan Guolei, 38; Song Xiansheng, 50; Lyu Jie, 40; Xie Yinlong, 29; Ye Mao, 31; Yang Zumin, 46; Lin Jianli, 47; and Pei Yuqiang, 31.

Only seven of the workers had visitor visas, and one worker had temporary stay permit and working permit.

Viktor noted that the immigration office would monitor the presence of foreign workers in Buleleng, Jembrana, and Karangasem districts.

"We seriously monitor foreign workers and keep a watch on all locations that allow foreigners to work illegally in these three districts," Viktor added.

Previously, the immigration office had deported two Chinese workers, namely He Xingji, 58, and Lin Meihua, 52, for illegally working in a shrimp farm in Jembrana district. (WDY)
