Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The US was listed as the biggest market for Bali's non-knitted garments in November 2016, constituting 32.81 percent of its total exports valued at US$5.33 million, the Central Statistics Agency's (BPS') local office stated.
Australia, which bought 19.80 percent of the total exports, trailed behind in second place, while Singapore stood third, with 12.63 percent of the total exports, Chief of the BPS Office in Bali Province Adi Nugroho remarked here on Saturday.
Hong Kong bought 5.37 percent of the total exports, followed by China, with 0.20 percent; Japan, with 0.70 percent; the Netherlands, with 0.78 percent; Germany, with 0.24 percent; Taiwan, with 0.08 percent; and Thailand, with 0.36 percent. The remaining 27.03 percent was exported to the rest of the world.
Adi noted that the exports of non-knitted garments in November 2016 represented a 42.51 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2015 when the figure was recorded at $3.74 million.
Non-knitted garments contributed 12.08 percent of the province's total exports in November 2016 and amounted to $44.19 million.
Exports in November 2016 rose 7.88 percent from $40.96 million in the same month a year earlier.(WDY)
