Bekasi, W Java,(Antara Bali) - The Bekasi City of West Java will scrap some 500 public transportation vehicles due to old age, a Bekasi land transportation operators organization official said.
The public transportation vehicles which will be scrapped are those over 15 years," Hotman Pane, the chief of the Bekasi City's Land Transportation Operators organization (Organda), said on Thursday.
He said that about 10 percent of the 5,000 public transportation vehicles operating in the Bekasi City will be destroyed.
The Organda is now popularizing the plan that will be carried out in 2015 to its members. Some operators still objected to the plan as they have to spend a great amount of money to replace their fleets.(MFD)
