Nusa Dua (Antara Bali) - Balinese arts and culture and that of other regions in Indonesia will be showcased at the gala dinner for the world leaders attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2013 summit here.
Addressing a press conference for the APEC summit at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on Thursday, Deputy of Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Sapta Nirwandar said, "We hope (the APEC summit) will not only be successful in (achieving its goals) but that it will also allow Indonesia to introduce its culture."
The country`s arts and culture will be presented on Oct. 7, he stated, noting that a blend of music from bamboo instruments and an orchestra was among the cultural performances.
The use of bamboo musical instruments is in line with the bamboo theme of the APEC 2013 summit.
In addition to listening to this music, the APEC leaders will witness a welcome dance called "Sekar Jepun." (*/M038)
