Situbondo, E Java (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) witnessed a naval military exercise held at the Banongan beach, Asem Bagus, Situbondo, East Java, on Thursday.
It was codenamed Jaya Fleet XXXIV/2016 Combat Training.
The President was accompanied by Chief of the Indonesian Defense Forces General Gatot Nurmantyo, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Ade Supandi, Minister/State Secretary Pratikno, and East Java Governor Sukarwo.
Jokowi rode an amphibious tank, Indonesia-1, while watching the exercise.
He later flew to Juanda International Airport in Surabaya by the Indonesian Air Force's Super Puma.
The Navy is holding the combat exercise from September 13 to 16, 2016.
It involves 7,558 naval personnel and various weapons, 40 warships, nine helicopters and planes, 69 tanks and 78 marine tactical vehicles. (WDY)
