Beijing, China, (Antara Bali) - The leaders of G20 member
countries are committed to fighting terrorism in all its shapes and
forms.
The leaders are also determined to improve the state of the world
economy through comprehensive policies to usher in an innovative,
renewed, interconnected, and inclusive global economic environment.
An official communication document received by Antara in Beijing,
Tuesday, affirmed the commitment to fighting all forms of terrorism and
uprooting terrorist sources.
The leaders of G20 member countries continue to assert their solidarity in fighting terrorism across the globe.
"We will take care of all sources, techniques, and funding channels
for terrorism, including tax extortions, smuggling of natural
resources, bank pillaging, stealing of cultural wealth, external
donations, and abductions for ransom," according to the document.
In facing terrorism, all member countries are committed to
effectively exchanging information, freezing the assets of terrorists,
and criminalizing all terrorist activities.
The G20 has urged all parties to soon realize the general
implementation of the Financial Action Task Force standard effectively
along with the UN Security Council Resolution 2553 globally.
"We urge the task force to carry out the Consolidated Strategy on
Combating Terrorist Financing in a more tangible and concrete manner for
more effective operational plans," the communiques further stated.
The surge in acts of terrorism across different parts of the world
some time ago was one of the topics of discussion at the summit between
the leaders of G20 member countries in Hangzhou, Zheijang Province,
China, on September 4-5.
At the 11th G20 summit that was closed on Monday night, it was
revealed that the increase in the frequency of terrorist attacks has
become a threat to the global economy. (WDY)
