President Jokowi Holds Open House In Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, held an open house reception to celebrate Lebaran for the public at Agung Building in Yogyakarta Saturday.

Some three thousand people were present and were given the opportunity to shake hands with the president, Chief of presidential press bureau Yudhi Wijayanto remarked.

"This was the first time the president held an open house reception in the Agung Building that was attended by nearly three thousand people," Wijayanto said.

Thousands of people who had been waiting since the morning were permitted to shake hands with President Jokowi, in the company of First Lady Iriana, and Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan HB X, according to him.

Before holding the open house reception, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana distributed 750 Lebaran packages containing basic necessities to the residents of Ledoksari, Klurak, and Kranggan hamlets in Prambanan district, Yogyakarta, Saturday morning.

Distribution of Lebaran packages in Prambanan was the third the president did. He had done the same in Karanganyar, Thursday, and in Solo, Friday.

In Karanganyar, the president distributed two thousand food packages containing rice, sugar, cooking oil, and tea, to people in seven hamlets of Kragan Village, in the district.

Then Friday, the president distributed six thousand packages to two thousand people from the villages of Sumber, Manahan, Banyuanyar, and Kadipiro, apart from Gilingan, and Nusukan in Solo. (WDY)
