Bali Interested In Educational Cooperation With Japan

Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The Bali provincial administration is interested in strengthening cooperation with the Japanese government, especially in the field of education and agriculture.

"As we know, Japan is well-known for its advances in the field of education and agricultural technologies," the Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika, said while receiving the Consul General of Japan, Hirohisa Chiba, here on Wednesday.

According to him, the cooperation between Bali and Japan has been running well.

This is reflected in the growing number of Japanese tourists visiting the island. In addition, many students from Bali are taking up internship programs in the country.

Chiba pointed out that Bali has been exploring cooperation with Komamoto province. In fact, the governor of Kumamoto visited Bali some time ago.

The visit of Governor Kumamoto will be followed up by another visit of a technical team on June 21, 2016.

"The Kumamoto entourage plans to visit the Udayana University, the Senior High School of Mandara and observe the Integrated Agricultural System," Pastika informed.

Pastika hoped the cooperation will benefit both sides and will provide more opportunities for Balinese students to continue their education in Japan.

The Bali governor thanked the Japanese who give much attention to the development in the province.

Chiba welcomed the governor`s plan to strengthen the cooperation with Japan.

"Please support us to continue and improve our relationship," Chiba remarked.(WDY)
