Many foreign tourists are expected to visit Indonesia to watch the eclipse , head of the tourism office of South Sumatra Irene Camelyn Sinaga said here on Monday.
Irene said the tourism office will facilitate the visitors and take them to a special location to watch the total eclipse.
She said the Malaysians want to enjoy watching the rare natural phenomenon from the lake Jakabaring Water Sky in Palembang.
The regional tourism office would coordinate with travel agents and the hotel and restaurant association (PHRI) in facilitating the foreign tourists, she added.
She said a number of places have been prepared for that purpose in Palembang including the Ampera bridge spanning the Musi river in the city center.
The bridge would be temporarily closed to public transport. (WDY)
