Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali's health service said it had recorded 107 deaths of rabies victims since it spread in the tourist resort province in November 2008.

Head of Bali's Health Service for Communicable Disease and Health Environemtn Ketut Subrata said here on Wednesday that the victims died because they were late to get anti-rabies vaccine (VAR).

"Most of them died because they were late to get help or had not yet received rabies vaccines," he said adding that 91.6 percent who died were those who had not yet gained vaccine.

He said that 7.5 percent others had got vaccine but not yet completely while 0.9 percent had already been given full vaccines.
