New Building Marks Continuation Of Anti-Graft Agency's Struggle

Jakarta (Antara Bali)- During the inauguration of a new building of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed hope that the building would mark the continuation of the agency's struggle.

On Tuesday, Jokowi inaugurated the building located on Kuningan Persada Street, Kav. 4, South Jakarta, to coincide with the 12th anniversary of the KPK, which falls on December 29.

Over the past 12 years, the Commission has become part of the nation's history in the fight against corruption.

The KPK, along with other government institutions and the public, need to take further steps in the fight against corruption.

New KPK Chief Agus Rahardjo in his remarks expressed gratitude to the Indonesians who have been supporting the agency over the past 12 years in its efforts to promote corruption-free Indonesia.

The new office is built on an 8,663-square-meter plot of land using the concept of "secure", "smart", and "green."

The construction of the 16-story building, with a total space of 39,629 square meters, began on November 29, 2013.

The building was constructed at a cost of Rp315.15 billion allocated in the State Budget. (WDY)
