West Java Represents Indonesia In ACSG 2015

Bandung, W Java (Antara Bali) -  West Java will represent Indonesia in the Asean Civil Service Games 2015 (ACSG) in Malaysia from November 15 to 20.

"We have set a target of becoming the overall champion," West Java regional secretary Iwa Karniva has said.

West Java has been appointed by the central government to send a contingent to represent the country in the Asean event for civil servants.

All member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations will take part in the event which will be the first to be held to develop cooperation between member countries especially among their civil servants.

The first ACSG is held in Malaysia in concurrence with the appointment of that country as Asean chairman for 2015.

The Asean member countries are Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.

Bima Haria Wibisana as chief de mission said five events would be competed in the ACSG including bowling, golf, table tennis, futsal and badminton. Indonesia will take part in all of the events involving 33 men and 12 women athletes and 15 officials.

"This team consists of 21 civil servants from West Java, three from ministries and state institutions, three from Jakarta, Central Java and East Java, 28 from districts and cities in West Java and four non-civil servants as coaches and psychotherapist," he said.

Bima said cost for the ACSG is prepared by Malaysia organizing committee in the form of accommodations, food and transportation plus planes tickets for golf and bowling athletes provided by Malaysia Airlines. (WDY)
