Jokowi To Attend Final Of President Cup Match

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Mahaka Sports and Entertainment as promotor of president cup 2015 tournament has confirmed here on Thursday that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will attend final round of the president cup here on Sunday (Oct.18).

CEO of the Mahaka, Hasani Abdulgani who organizes the president cup told the press here on Thursday that his side will immediately discuss regarding the president's attendance in the Gelora Bung Karno main stadium to watch the final match between Persib Bandung and Sriwijaya FC clubs.

The game is expected to run in tight situation, as Persib has a desire to win this tournament following its success to become a champion in the Indonesia Super League (ISL), which was carried out by the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI).

Persib Bandung soccer club of West Java advanced to final round of the President Cup 2015 after crushing Mitra Kukar team of East Kalimantan 3-1 in Bandung, West Java on Saturday evening.

Sriwijaya FC of South Sumatra defeated Arema Cronus Indonesia of Malang, East Java 2-1 in the second leg of semifinals of the President Cup which took place in the Manahan Solo stadium on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, the match between Mitra Kukar of East Kalimantan and Arema Cronus Indonesia of Malang, East Java to win the third rank will take place in I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar, Bali, also on Sunday.

The President Cup Tournament 2015 was opened by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the "I Wayan Dipta" Stadium in Gianyar, Bali, on Sunday (August 30).

Apart from that, Mahaka Sports which organizes the President Cup soccer tournament has offered a cash prize of Rp3 billion for the champion.

According to Erik Tohir, president director of the Mahaka Sports, the runner up in the tournament will earn a cash prize of Rp2 billion, the third will obtain Rp1 billion and the fourth will gain Rp500 million.

In addition, the tournament`s organizer also offers cash prize worth Rp200 million for the best player, Rp 100 million for the top scorer and Rp300 million for the most `fair play` club.(WDY)
