Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The State Enterprises Ministry has agreed to increase the amount of dividend from the state owned companies for the 2016 state budget to Rp34.164 trillion from Rp31.164 trillion decided previously.

"We have decided that we will be able to increase the dividend to be paid towards the 2016 state budget to Rp34.164 trillion from the previous target of  Rp31.164 trillion set in the financial notes of the draft state budget," State Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno said at a working meeting with the Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR) here on Thursday.

According to her, the increase is based on the profit target of state-owned companies for year 2015, which is projected to reach Rp131.5 trillion, less than the previous target of Rp165 trillion.

The dividend payments to the state budget were previously set at Rp31.146 trillion, of which Rp6.9 trillion would come from banks' dividend payments and Rp24.22 trillion from non-banks' dividend payments.

"Since there has been a request for a Rp3 trillion increase in dividend payments, we have agreed to it. This increased amount will come from the publicly-listed state owned companies whose number currently reaches 17. The extra dividend payments may come from publicly listed state telecommunication operators and other companies," she said.
According to data from the State Enterprises Ministry, PT Pertamina will be the state owned company with the largest dividend payment of Rp4.806 trillion in 2016, followed by the state electricity company PT PLN with Rp1.89 trillion, state insurance company PT Jasa Raharja with Rp1.1 trillion, state fertilizer company PT Pupuk Indonesia with Rp954 billion, state plantation company PTPN III with Rp500 billion, and seaport operator PT Pelindo II with Rp416 billion.
