Sports Minister Asks BOPI Not to Complicate Matches Permit

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Imam Nahrawi has asked the Indonesian Professional Sports Agency (BOPI) not to complicate the license for football matches which will be held by promoters.

"All tournaments should run. We ask BOPI not to complicate the license," the minister said on Wednesday.

There are two large soccer tournaments which will be conducted by different promoters in this upcoming August.

The Mahaka Sports will conduct the "Piala Indonesia Satu" (Indonesia One Cup) and another promoter "Tim Transisi" (Transitional Team) which was founded by the Sports Minister will organize the "Piala Kemerdekaan" (Independence Trophies).

The "Piala Indonesia Satu" will be participated in by 16 clubs which previously took part in the Indonesia Super League (ISL).

Meanwhile, so far 27 clubs of the Divisi Utama (The main division) have registered for the "Piala Kemerdekaan" tournament.

Apart from that coordinator of the Communication Working Group of the Transitional Team Cheppy T Wartono stated after completion of the participants registration for the Piala Kemerdekaan, the next stage is the verification process which will be conducted by the Transition Team and BOPI.

The Piala Kemerdekaan tournament offers the grand prize of Rp500 million. (WDY)
