Ponorogo, East Java (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, attended a grand harvest of rice in Ponorogo district, East Java, on Friday.
Ponorogo is one of the districts in East Java that is entering this year's rice harvest season.
The president on Friday morning attended the grand harvest at Dukuh Jetis village and distributed aid to the local farmers.
Also present at the grand rice harvest were Ponorogo district head Amin, Agricultural Minister Amran Sulaiman, and East Java Governor Soekarwo.
President Jokowi is on a three-day working visit to East Java from Friday to Sunday, accompanied by First Lady Iriana.
The president and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta at 7:45 a.m. on Friday and arrived at Iswahjudi military airbase in Madiun, East Java, at 9:30 a.m. From Iswahjudi airport, President Jokowi and his entourage made their way to the harvest area, which is a one-hour drive from Madiun.
